Our world-class restaurants are seeking experienced and knowledgeable Food & Beverage Attendants to bring to Hamilton Island their professionalism, ability and experience to create perfect dining experiences for our valued guests.
Coca Chu is Hamilton Island’s modern South East Asian restaurant. Bringing adventurous, fun and seductive fare to the Whitsundays, Coca Chu is a centrepiece for modern Asian fusion dining. Overseen by an awarded international chef, the eclectic menu based upon the hawker food stalls of South East Asia mixes bold flavours with elegant casual style.

This is a unique opportunity for a creative and talented dessert chef to develop menus and run this section with the support of an award-winning Executive Chef.

About The Role

  • Open for dinners nightly
  • Full-time permanent position
  • Work in a team of up to 11 people in the kitchen
  • Creative control of the dessert section including menu writing, costing, ordering
  • Ensuring consistency of quality food standards of excellence during preparation and food service
  • Emphasis on western and asian-inspired desserts
  • Oversee the commis chef in larder section

About You

  • Must have successfully completed Certificate 3 in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)
  • Minimum 4 years of post-apprenticeship experience
  • Background in quality dining a la carte restaurants in dessert section
  • Experience with Asian inspired desserts preferred
  • Impeccable grooming and personal presentation
  • Having a high level of physically fitness - this is a demanding role in hot and humid tropical conditions
  • A good attitude and willingness to learn and contribute to the success of your team
  • Minimum commitment of 12 months
