Job description:
An exciting opportunity for a skilled and committed Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) professional exists to join our Victorian Health, Safety & Environment team.  Working across one of VOC  flagship projects, North East Link.
As HSE Advisor you will provide support to the HSE Manager- NEL to promote the health, safety and welfare of our staff and the avoidance of negative impacts for the North East Link project. 
What does the job involve?
Full time role
6-9 month requirement
Commencing in 2-4 weeks
This role is to work with the HSE Manager – NEL as a span of control covering a series of drill rig sites
Field work 80%/ Office work 20%
Primary tasks
  • Inspecting drill rigs
  • Checking paperwork
  • Checking permits
  • Checking compliance requirements
  • Inspecting plant equipment
  • Checking plant maintenance
  • Supervising field staff
  • Drill rig experience is ideal
  • 7-10 years experience ideal
  • Construction experience ideal
  • High risk construction experience (preferable)
  • Understanding of rail operations beneficial (preferable)
  • Experience with HSE Systems
  • Sound knowledge and application of Victorian Safety legislation as well as the WorkSafe Harmonisation Act
  • Excellent communication skills, including sound consultation and negotiation skills
  • The ability to work in a team environment under minimal supervision
  • The ability to exercise sound judgement and decisiveness
  • A demonstrated desire to coach and empower all users within the boundaries GHD’s HSE Management System
