Job description:

Our Contamination Assessment and Remediation group comprises a team of around 40 highly effective environmental professionals who deliver a broad range of contaminated land services including environmental site investigations, contaminated land auditing, remediation planning and implementation, human health and ecological risk assessment, due diligence and property portfolio risk assessment for our clients.

We are currently seeking an Environmental Engineer/Scientist to join our Melbourne-based Contamination Assessment and Remediation group as a Contaminated Land Consultant, in an audit support and audit project management role. 

This position is ideal for an experienced auditor’s assistant looking to develop further by working with some of Australia’s leading contaminated land auditors, drawing on in-house technical specialists and our large team of contaminated sites professionals to successfully deliver audit projects for our broad range of private and public sector clients.

The role requires the ability to manage and be part of project teams in a commercial environment as well as a high level of self-motivation, energy and confidence, a strong team ethic and good communication skills both written and oral.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to GHD’s Victorian EPA Appointed Contaminated Land Auditors 
  • Undertake technical reviews, prepare comments and track audit issues, report writing
  • Project management including client communications, financial tracking and co-ordination of project resources
  • Mentoring and development of junior team members in audit processes

 Key criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Science
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in contaminated land consulting, including a significant component of audit support
  • Strong technical skills
  • Sound knowledge of Victorian legislation and audit system
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities

Previous experience in an auditor assistant role would be an advantage however all candidates with a strong working knowledge of Victorian legislation, the audit process, and an interest in working on statutory environmental audits will be considered.
