Job description:

Cover-More is now recruiting for an Analytics Developer to join the Analytics team in our North Sydney Office.

The successful candidate will be joining the Analytics team to help transform the way data is interpreted across our travel insurance, medical assistance and employee assistance businesses. Responsible for the entire data pipeline, the team is trusted to provide insight into all aspects of business performance as well as analysing strategic opportunities.

The Analytics Developers work together with internal customers to connect and turn data into meaningful information. They build relationships with internal customers to understand requirements, identify patterns using complex data models and communicate their findings through interactive reports and presentations.

Key Accountabilities include:

Data Management

  • Maintain data warehouse integrity and performance
  • SQL development to design stored procedures, functions, tables, views and triggers

Data Modelling/Analytics

  • Proactively engage internal customers to understand data requirements
  • Design complex data models
  • Explore hypotheses by applying statistical analysis methods
  • Share knowledge and coach other team members

Reporting and Support

  • Develop new dashboards and self-service reporting
  • Maintain periodic performance reports
  • Document processes and methodology
  • Provide routine ad-hoc data services and training to business users

Personal Specifications

The ideal candidate will need to have tertiary qualifications in a quantitative discipline such as economics, statistics or maths. You are also required to have experience in a data/analysis focused role for a minimum of 3 years, with proficiency in:

  • Data warehousing with MS SQL (SSIS, fluent in TSQL). Exposure to other data platforms is a plus.
  • Curating data and developing data governance frameworks
  • Extracting and manipulating data for basic analysis
  • Building statistical analysis and predictive models (R, Python)
  • Developing interactive reporting (Tableau, Business Objects)

As an experienced Data Analyst you will be intensely curious and continually exploring new ideas to understand business trends. You will bring data expertise together with commercial acumen to distil information and tell stories that relate to real business outcomes. Reaching the right audience will also be important to you and your customers will value your attention to user experience design.
