  • Lead the implementation and management of the Offending Behaviour Programs in the region
  • Provide leadership, direct management and professional supervision of Senior Clinicians 
  • Ongoing, full-time opportunity ($113,156 - $151,426 plus superannuation) based in Bendigo

Department of Justice and Regulation comprises eight regions through which compliance, enforcement and regulatory services are provided to the Victorian community. The Loddon Mallee Region provides services at Justice Service Centres in Bendigo, Swan Hill and Mildura and at outreach locations across the region. The region has three prisons: the Loddon Prison Precinct in Castlemaine which incorporates Loddon Prison and Middleton, as well as Tarrengower Prison.

Loddon Mallee Region delivers a range of Justice Services including custodial services (prisons), Community Correctional Services, Youth Justice, Sheriff''s Operations, Consumer Affairs, Dispute Settlement, Offending Behaviour Programs (OBP) and front of house enquiries (including Births, Deaths and Marriages applications). 

Offending Behaviour Programs (OBP) seek to reduce an offender''s risk of re-offending. Interventions may address violence propensity, general offending behaviour, motivation to change, maintaining change, emotion management and other offence-related topics. OBPs are delivered via a hybrid services delivery model comprised of departmental staff and private providers. Regional OBP is responsible for providing Offending Behaviour Programs to eligible prisoners in public prisons and offenders reporting to Community Correctional Services.  

As a member of the Regional Service Network, the Regional Manager OBP is accountable for all aspects of the delivery of the regional Offending Behaviour Programs across the Regional Service Network. The Regional Manager OBP manages performance, resources, quality assurance and regional OBP staff within an allocated budget.

As the successful applicant, you will demonstrate an ability to lead a team, provide authoritative and expert advice and recommendations consistent with organisational goals and values. A thorough understanding of the principles and practices of offending behaviour interventions and the range of assessment and interventions tools relevant to the forensic environment. You will have proven written communication skills and an ability to plan and provide strategically appropriate recommendations to various stakeholders.

In addition, you will be required to demonstrate:

  • an understanding and operational knowledge of the corrections system
  • capabilities in providing leadership and supervision to a team of senior clinicians
  • relevant forensic, clinical or criminology qualifications (highly desirable).
