The Position

We are currently searching for an experienced and passionate Retail Cafe Manager to lead the team at our site in North Geelong. The successful applicant will be responsible for executing the daily activities of a busy retail site, including operational, financial, administrative and people management responsibilities.

Reporting to an Area Manager, you will lead your team through effective coaching, development and performance management to ensure ongoing business enhancement that maximises the customer experience, drives sales and delivers outstanding customer service.

Key duties

  • Leading a team to deliver high quality, fresh food and exceptional customer service
  • Maximise sales and profitability by soliciting, identifying and delivering on opportunities for growth
  • Managing all day-to-day operations of the department
  • Merchandising and stock rotation to ensure department presentation standards are met
  • Training and development of team members in sales, service and safety
  • Ensure safe food handling and hygiene standards are maintained at all times
  • Enhancing workplace culture being that of a fun, friendly and fresh environment

The Person

  • Previous leadership experience in high volume food retail preferably in cafes
  • Food production knowledge
  • Proven track record or sales and profit achievement
  • Demonstrated ability in people management, stock management, merchandise and loss prevention processes
  • Total commitment to the highest standards of customer service
  • Strong financial management skills
  • Great attention to detail with an excellent ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • Passion for great food
