The Role

Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, the primary focus of this role is to ensure the highest standard of payroll services associated with the production of accurate and timely award and salary payrolls. Ultimately responsible for supporting the company’s Financial and Accounting processes relating to payroll. For the right candidate we will consider making the role part time.

What you contribute

The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Preparation and reconciliation of superannuation, employee deductions, payroll tax and PAYG obligations
  • Reconciliation of employee leave accruals and salaries/deductions
    • Ensure all payroll processes and procedure documents are maintained to ensure they continue to support the organisation’s needs, and adherence with legislative requirements
    • Ensure Internal & External Audit requirements are adhered to
    • End of month and End of year processing and reporting
    • Assisting with the Annual Workcover declaration
    • Providing reports to the Finance function and data analysis where required

    Who you are

    To be successful in this role, we are looking for a positive and flexible individual with refined communication skills. In addition you will be a proactive, solutions focused team player, who possesses the ability to build lasting relationships with stakeholders at all levels. You will ideally have:

    • Sound knowledge and understanding of current payroll processes
    • Strong analytical and excel skills
    • Good communicator with a consultative approach
    • Awareness of current Australian tax legislation
    • Up to date knowledge of superannuation requirements
    • A tertiary qualification in Accounting or similar
