The Role

The Demand Manager is part of the IT or “Solutions” organisation, and is responsible for shaping the unconstrained IT demand from the Supply & Logistics function, to deliver maximum return on investment to the business. Through close and collaborative relationships with the functional leadership and relevant domain counterparts in the Solutions organization, both Globally and in the Zone, the Demand Manager will shape the tactical and strategic Solutions agenda enabling the Supply & Logistics function. The alignment of this Demand Management role to the Zone functional leadership allows the Demand Manager to take a leadership role in achieving the top-line growth and efficiency ambitions of the Zone through the application of innovative, game-changing solutions.

The Team

As a member of the APAC South Zone Solutions Demand Team, the Demand Manager for Supply & Logistics works with peers representing all aspects of the business, from Commercial, through Manufacturing & Distribution, to Corporate functions. This team works in collaborative modes, leveraging the synergies and capabilities of the other members, as well as in innovative or entrepreneurial modes, generating new ideas and ways of working. Based in Melbourne, Australia, this role carries responsibility for three very diverse markets, including a mature Australian market, an emerging Indian market, and a large Southeast Asian market where the focus is on growing ABI’s presence. The Demand Manager works comfortably with managing current year efforts through funding release, generating a 1 year plan for budgeting purposes, and aligning on a 3 year strategic plan with global programs and zone business strategy.

  • Shape the Solutions agenda to achieve the Zone targets for growth, efficiency, a positive work-place and making a difference in society
  • Collaborate with the business functional leadership in the Zone to understand the challenges and opportunities and realise solutions to address these needs
  • Provide data based evaluation of problem spaces and initiatives through robust business case development and review
  • Work within the Solutions organization in the zone and globally to manage business case led realisation of innovation and efficiency driven initiatives
  • Actively co-ordinate and align across the global and zone led initiatives, tied to the global dream and how it is applied in the zone
  • Maximise return on investment through key initiative KPIs and Targets - alignment with zone and global business
    • Strong communication skills both verbal & written
    • Ability to quickly understand root-cause of problems and how technology and processes solve these issues
    • Solid knowledge in Finance to build robust business cases aligned to strategic KPIs.
    • Ability to build strong working relationship building with key stakeholders
    • Capability to influencing stakeholders at a senior level of the business
    • Analytical & challenging mindset
