Group Regulatory Compliance has a key role to the Bank’s success by designing and maintaining the compliance program to ensure the Bank meets its compliance obligations. Strong compliance governance and a positive risk culture is central to everything we and it is critical that our compliance program responds to the innovation that is occurring in our business.

We have a 12 month contract opportunity a Manager Regulatory Compliance in either Melbourne or Bendigo to join our compliance team.

The Role

Bendigo Bank is seeking an experienced Compliance professional who can demonstrate extensive experience in a regulated Financial Institution. To be suitable to this role you have skills in providing leadership, guidance, support and assistance to business in defining and articulating relevant obligations and in embedding robust compliance practices which will achieve effective and efficient management of compliance risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementation and continuous development of the Compliance Framework and programs to meet the required compliance standards.
  • Commitment to building strong working relationships with the objective of actively developing and sustaining consultative working relationships to achieve compliance objectives.
  • Leading the design and development of the risk based Compliance review program.
  • Design and deliver education and awareness programs that continue to evolve and support a positive compliance culture.
  • Work as part of a team of Compliance and Operational Risk specialists to actively support development through technical leadership, knowledge sharing and mentoring.

The Candidate

To be part of this growing business you will have extensive skills and experience in establishing and maintaining programs which effectively manage compliance obligations relevant to the Bank’s various businesses. You are also committed to continuous improvement and strive to deliver efficient and effective compliance management strategies to the business.

Strong interpersonal & relationship building skills to provide advice and support to our business customers is essential.

You will ideally have a relevant business or legal tertiary qualification and be committed to ongoing professional development.
