About us

Bendigo Bank’s innovative Community Bank® concept has been established in Port Fairy and the Port Fairy & District Community Bank® Branch is making a vital contribution to the community. In the 3 years since opening the Branch has experienced great growth and over $150,000 has been given back to the community in many ways such as being major sponsor of local sporting clubs, annual sponsor of the Moyneyana Festival and a significant contributor to the recent bluestone paving improvements to Sackville Street.

Port Fairy is a coastal town at the end of the Great Ocean Road in south-western Victoria, Australia. 290 kilometers west of Melbourne and 20 minutes from Warrnambool; it is the last destination on Victoria’s famed shipwreck coast.

If you are an ocean lover, you will be able to walk down to the local port to watch the fishermen unload their catch of the day, head out to sea on a guided fishing trip or cruise out to the seal colony. You can get active with surfing or paddle boarding or slow it down and watching the southern right whales breach or just enjoy the stunning ocean views. The wide streets are lined with heritage buildings and you won’t miss out with a buzzing art scene and fine food and wine on offer from the many great pubs, cafes and restaurants. The town offer two fantastic swimming and surfing beaches and outstanding sporting facilities. There is a hospital and two excellent primary schools in the town plus three secondary schools and Deakin University in nearby Warrnambool.

About the role

As Port Fairy & District Community Bank® Branch Manager, you will be the leader of an important local business.

You will play a major part in the customer experience and be committed to meeting the needs of both new and existing customers. You aim to build the 'balance sheet' of each customer you work with, delivering tailored financial solutions through your expertise in a range of lending products and services, including consumer lending and small business, insurance and wealth management.

You will be integral to the long-term success of the business by proactively building and maintaining valuable internal and external networks and community partnerships and driving growth via business development.

As Branch Manager, you'll also be responsible for leading your team to deliver exceptional service and sales results.

About you

We are looking for an energetic leader to become an important, active member of the local community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a range of capabilities:

  • Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop highly effective teams in a service environment.
  • A track record of consistently getting sales results.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and executing strategies to maintain and build business growth.
  • Highly developed relationship building skills; proactively developing valued internal and external networks and community partnerships.
  • Exposure to Banking and Finance products and services are essential
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business/Finance or related discipline will be advantageous.
