Primary Focus

Conduct and manage field productions of pre-basic and F1 hybrid canola seed as required by satisfying internal production standards and completion of the program within quality, timeliness and financial objectives.


Role and Responsibilities
  • Delivery of Parent Seed, and F1 hybrid canola, including preparing,establishing and managing production sites in accordance with protocols;
  • Should ensure all operations satisfy stewardship and regulatory requirements, including past sites where applicable;
  • Maintain relationships with growers, contractors, and the general farming community for mutual benefit;
  • Identify and propose improvements to the field operations production program;
  • Maintain industry relationships and an up to date knowledge of the local canola industry in order to provide practical support to breeding, marketing and sales as required;
  • Be responsible for the safety and maintenance of all machinery and trial equipment as directed;
  • The supervision of contract and casual personnel from time to time;
  • This hours of work for this role is heavy dependent on seasonal conditions, therefore flexibility in your approach to working hours will ensure success.

Who you are
  • Degree or Diploma in Agriculture or related discipline or an experienced field agronomist with practical experience;
  • Field agronomy with a practical knowledge of using, managing and maintain field equipment;
  • An understanding of general agronomy necessary;
  • Ability to work within a team environment and independently;
  • Experience working in a QHSE and legally compliant work place;
  • Strong communication and relationship management across multiple stakeholders;
  • Able to be flexible with your working hours – base on climate conditions.
