About the Role

We are offering a number of exciting fly in fly out Traineeship opportunities across our WA Iron Ore operations. The program is designed to develop cultured, engaged, highly skilled and work ready trainees, providing you with nationally recognised qualifications upon successful completion. You will be provided with industry-leading training and mentoring by some of BHP''s talented workforce. You will also experience first-rate working conditions with a focus on safety, quality and teamwork.

Our Traineeships will be offered on a 2/1 roster (two weeks on, one week off) across the following disciplines;

  • Mining Production Traineeships (Load & Haul Technician) – Certificate II in Surface Extraction
  • Mining Production Traineeships (Blast Crew Technician) – Certificate II in Surface Extraction
  • Processing Production Traineeships (Fixed Plant Process Technician) – Certificate II in Resource Processing

As part of the recruitment process, Engagement Centres will be held in Perth between the 12th February and 15th February 2018 with Commencement dates staggered across two intakes; April 2018 and June 2018.

About You

  • Have residence in Perth, Western Australia;
  • Hold a current and valid WA "C" class Manual driver’s license;
  • Strong commitment to your own wellbeing and the wellbeing of others;
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Proven attendance record (recent school or employment history);
  • Enthusiasm to learn and motivation to succeed; and
  • Demonstrate basic administrative and/or computing skills.
