The six fundamental building blocks that defines Digital foundations are User Experience platforms, Enterprise Platforms, Digital Twin Platform, Base Infrastructure Platform, Data Management Platform and Decision Automation Engine.

To execute these goals, we need exceptional leadership for our technical experts and we are looking for an experienced technical practitioner with outstanding stakeholder management skills to guide the Digital Twin Platform domain.

What you will do

The Digital Foundations team is made up of a practitioner for each of the six Platforms.  These practitioners will be sources of knowledge, advice and direction for the teams that build software and hardware for the business.  They will provide guidance on how to address delivery problems both from a strategic and architectural perspective as well as gathering and harvesting approaches that delivery teams discover and pioneer, in order to disseminate to other teams facing similar situations. The Digital Twin Platform Lead reports to the Manager, Digital Foundations and is part of the Digital Strategy team. 

You will:

  • Act as Technical Design Authority and Subject Matter Expert for the Digital Twin
  • Educate and incubate the Digital Twin architecture and design the BHP Technology and operations
  • Work collaboratively with other Technology departments to define the use of consistent Digital Twin models across technology and a future of automated systems
  • Advises Functions and Assets on all key Digital Twin standards, processes, workflows, and practices
  • Support the design and the implementation of Digital Twin solutions in major projects and initiatives
  • Proactively identify opportunities for automation, continuous improvements, and preventative maintenance through the use of Digital Twins
  • Develop and maintain standards and procedures for Digital Twin practices in alignment with strategic business drivers and goals
  • Participates in Digital Twin work groups and steering committees for relevant projects

What you will need/have

  • Deep technical experience in building Global Digital Twin Platforms built for digital use cases
  • Experience in building full stack digital platforms covering key components of base technology (Servers, networks, and software configured foundations), Data Management Platforms, Digital Twins, User Experience platforms and integration of monolyth Enterprise systems
  • Outstanding technical leadership skills with a solution architectural flavour
  • Ability to empower others, inspire through enthusiasm and example
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to communicate and articulate complex ideas
  • Familiarity with API’s use in platforms, including micro services.
