  • Assist with the delivery of an exciting community education program

  • Be part of the worlds largest Humanitarian organisation

  • Availability during business hours from 9am-3:00pm, Monday to Friday required

The Role

Red Cross Migration Support Programs provide support to refugees, asylum seekers, immigration detainees and other people who are vulnerable as a result of migration. Red Cross supports refugees through a range of services and programs that protect and uphold the health, dignity and well-being of vulnerable migrants. We also work to reconnect family members whose loss of contact is caused by international or internal conflict, war and disaster.

In Search of Safety is an interactive, educational program informing primary school students about the asylum seeker journey and the reasons why people seek protection in Australia.

The program presents students with a theoretical and practical introduction to facts about refugees and asylum seekers, as well as an opportunity to hear from someone who has sought protection in Australia and is now living in the Victorian community

About you

  • You are a confident public speaker with the ability to facilitate large groups independently
  • Have demonstrated experience working in a school setting
  • You have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with a keen interest and knowledge in humanitarian issues
  • Are available during business hours (9:00am-3:00pm) and are available to commit to a minimum of one year during 2017.
