About the position

The Commercial Accountant supports the Finance Manager – Commercial in managing the operational finance aspects of the Nuclear Business (NB) Cluster.

The primary focus being on the delivery of key business driver reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, product and customer profitability, product pricing, Organisational Excellence (OE) process, working capital management, capital management and the alignment of these focus points to the strategic objectives of the cluster and the ANSTO organisation.

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager – Commercial, this role is part of the Group Finance Team Client relationship to the relevant General Managers within the designated portfolio. An SLA will be agreed to with each business owner for the duration of the client assignment.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Support the Finance Manager – Commercial in managing the operational, Business and Financial Analysis for ANSTO NB Cluster as required.
  • Assist in developing the budget, forecasting and planning process and work with the Finance / Manager – Commercial in the preparation of the 24 Month Rolling Forecasts and the 5 year Strategic Plan.
  • Develop and control the pricing / mix analysis for all commercial products and customers
  • Assist in developing and continually improving the strategically aligned KPI analysis for the ANSTO NB Cluster as part of the Integrated Business Planning process.

Skills and Experience

  • A Degree or CA/CPA qualified preferred or suitable tertiary qualifications with extensive experience in finance management.
  • Sound business acumen /sound judgement.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
