Project Manager NATIONAL ACOUSTIC LABORATORIES

 

We have a newly created opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our friendly team to support research into hearing.

For over 50 years, the National Acoustic Laboratories (the research division of Australian Hearing) has conducted and published world-renowned research into hearing, hearing loss prevention, and hearing rehabilitation (www.nal.gov.au).

 

We have a newly created opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join the National Acoustic Laboratories (NAL).  This role will manage innovation projects stemming from research within NAL, ensuring they run on time and on budget.

 

Reporting to the Operations and Finance Manager this is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for someone seeking to enhance their Project Management career. The successful candidate will have a minimum 5 years of Project Management experience managing projects in the science/research space.

 

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Delivery of research related projects, including the execution of activities such as project planning, scheduling, cost and benefit estimation, cost tracking and risk management
  • Ensuring that all projects are planned appropriately and follow prescribed processes
  • Providing visibility of the project status to senior executives and key stakeholders
  • Working with customers (internal and external) and technical resources to develop project schedule
  • Performing risk management planning, risk identification and mitigation planning
  • Measure and report on the agreed Business Case benefits on completion of the project

 

Essential Capabilities:

  • Tertiary qualification in a research, scientific or an engineering discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in project delivery (>5 years)
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience in research and/or science related project management
  • Demonstrated experience in project management methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing project plans, project financial management and business cases
  • Sound understanding of project management principles
  • Experience in a highly business-engaged environment and matrix organisation
  • Experience in, or knowledge of, the Health sector

  • • Experience working in dynamic teams
