About the role
Donald Robinson Village, our Retirement Living home is seeking a Café Cook who will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of food and service to Cafe customers through the preparation of safe and quality food products.

Key responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Cooking and preparing meals for lunch
  • Assisting the Café Team Leader with determining the café menu 
  • Processing orders for raw ingredients, dry stores and catering products
  • Ensuring optimum food quality by checking ingredients, monitoring preparation, handling, cooking and storage procedures, and making suggestions aimed at improving food quality, work practices, procedures, and cleanliness standards
  • Assisting with ordering provisions for the cafe, stock take, purchase requisitions, maintenance requests, record of daily events 
  • Working in a cooperative way with team members
  • Ensuring safe work practices are carried out within the safety, health, hygiene and cleanliness standards of Anglicare and the relevant health authorities, including HACCP and WHS policies.

Please note: Some flexibility may be required at times to cover leave. You may be asked to commence at 8:30am and finish at 3pm as needed.

Skills, knowledge and experience needed

  • Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years’ food industry experience (preferable)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Microsoft office computer software skills (preferable)
