We are seeking an Applications Chemist to join the Atomic Spectroscopy Marketing Team on a 12 month contract.

Be part of the team that is shaping the future in Atomic Spectroscopy, working on cutting edge technology part of a global team in our Australian Head Office in Mulgrave. As part of the Technical Marketing team you will build on your extensive knowledge of scientific theories and marketing principles. You will work with a dynamic team developing application solutions for existing and new products.

Though you’ll be part of a team, you will also be working independently and setting your own priorities. The scope and complexity of your projects will be based on your existing knowledge and capabilities as well as how fast you can acquire new skills.

As part of the Technical Marketing team your focus will be in our laboratory and being hands on with our instruments including; ICP-OES/MS, AA and Microwave Plasma, writing application notes and papers.

We are seeking a chemist with extensive experience and knowledge in ICP-OES, including various sample preparation methods, application method development, instrument operation and data analysis.

You will be responsible for the following:

•Generating new applications, technical data and proof of performance for Agilent’s Atomic Spectroscopy instruments
•Conducting lab work (wet chemistry and instrumental based) for applications as needed.
•Writing application notes and other technical briefs in a clear and professional manner.
•Ensuring that the final written material is completed and available for use by specified deadlines.
•Assisting customers with applications, providing technical expertise.

The successful candidate will have:

•Educated to at least university degree level in Chemistry or related science.
•Extensive experience and knowledge in ICP-OES (MP-AES and AAS desirable, but not necessary)
•Experience and understanding of routine sample preparation methods used in industry
